Booking Your Assessment Drive

Let's start by saying that we shall do everything we can to make the assessment as pleasant as possible. It is normal to feel nervous or maybe apprehensive especially when someone is watching you do something like driving.

When you contact us using the form below, we aim to get back to you within 48 hours either by email or phone. We shall work with you to arrange a mutually acceptable Sunday morning for the assessment.

The assessment day.

Please allow plenty of timeto get to us so that you won't arrive flustered. We will have sent you details of where to come to already, and you can also find maps on our "Where We Meet" page.

You will need to ensure you have sufficient fuel for the assessment drive which will last between 45 and 60 minutes. Please also get your insurance certificate, MOT certificate if applicable, and also your driving licence, as we shall need to see them. You may also want to bring a means of payment if you wish to sign up for the training at the end of your assessment drive, though there is no pressure for you to do so.

When you arrive at one of our centres, we'll offer you a drink and a chat first. We'll also check your driving licence etc. Toilets are available too in case you need to go first.

The drive.

The Tutor will go with you to your car, and please don't be surprised if they walk around your car before getting in. This is quite normal.

The Tutor will sit in the passenger seat, and they will give you plenty of notice about where to go and what they expect. The key part from you is to relax and drive as you normally do. Your Tutor will try to put you at your ease too. The drive is normally lasts between 45 and 60 minutes.

Debrief.

When you get back to the centre, you will go back inside and the Tutor will give constructive feedback on what they have seen of your driving. You'll have a feedback sheet to take home with you too. At this point you can join us there and then, or you can go home and think about what you want to do.
